Tiny Faith

When the storms of life hit us hard, we are overwhelmed, frightened and confused. We want to trust God, but we feel so weak and helpless. It seems impossible to conjure up enough faith to believe that God can work right smack dab in the middle of our mess. We earnestly desire more faith, but is that what we really need?  We should remember that God doesn’t require “big faith” because He is a big God.

Matthew 17:20 reminds us, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed…nothing will be impossible for you.”  A mustard seed is so incredibly tiny — about one-fourth the size of a single grain of rice.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He hears the cries of our hearts. The extraordinary book of the Apostle Paul’s letter to The Romans beautifully reminds us that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. Grasp tightly to your tiny faith. God will bless it and meet you where you are.  His strength will pull you through and sustain you.

God’s power does not depend upon the amount of our faith, but in the abundance of His love for us. Stand firmly upon the sliver of faith you have. It is enough.
