Morning Rituals

We all have morning rituals to get ready to start our day. Men shave, shower, and put on clothes. Women add to these basics by applying make-up, styling hair, while choosing clothes, shoes and accessories that look good together. During my morning ritual, I like to think about the other things I need to put on to ensure that I will be equipped to meet the demands of the day.

In Colossians 3:14, the Apostle Paul offers some advice, “Put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”  We can choose to put on love, which will bring extra patience and much-needed grace into our hearts.  

Love will fuel us to be efficient in our work so that when we arrive back home, we can give ourselves fully to those we hold dear.  Love will propel us to listen more and talk less.  Love will free us to forgive and forget.  Love will bring balance and perspective to know what is higher and best.  Put on love today.  It can be the most important garment you wear.
